Confused

I've been on a bit of an app spree the last two weeks. 2 of the apps were for Synchrony cards for Amazon and Walmart. Neither were instant so I called back the next day for both. I was approved for the Amazon and was told it was still processing for the Walmart card. The next day I called back and was told I was declined. Despite everything that I saw on here about Synchrony not being recon friendly I requested a recon. The csr resubmitted my application for further review. I called the next day and was told again it was still reprocessing. This morning I received an email from the bank stating it was denied due to them being unable to verify my identity. I find that odd since I called them 3 times and was transferred to another agent every call. So in total I was verified 6 times. I am so confused!

Re: Confused

I had the exact opposite acceptance on my cards

I got the Walmart card, denied the Amazon card.

But the good news is after having Walmart for 6 months, I applied for 4 other Synchrony cards (Amazon, Lowes, etc) and got approved for every one.

So garden your Amazon for 6 months then after the full 6 months, go for the Wally

Re: Confused

Thank you for the advice! I think you are right. I am tired calling them, and after all of these inquiries I definitely need to be in the garden.

Re: Confused

That is weird...its also weird that the CSR told you she resubmitted the application and you had to wait again......did you call walmarts credit solutions?? Its really a hit or miss with their CSR.....you will call once and get someone who has no idea whats going on and will tell u denied and another who will actually have a clue. With that being said here is my experience.

Applied for walmart in September when I first started rebuilding and got denied......I got my score up in October and applied for Amazon (first time) and was approved instantly for $800. Called walmart to ask if I could apply again even though it hasnt been 30 days I was told yes. I applied and was giving the 7-10 day message, called and was told I was denied and that was it......the next day I seen walmart didnt pull my credit called back and was told I actually did have to wait 30 days in between apps and to reapply in a week and if I get that message again to call them right away and they could over ride the system. Did exactly what they said plus waited 2 extra days before applying and called right away after submitting the app because I got the 7-10 day message again with no hardpull

The CSR put me on hold, cane back and said she had to resubmit my app and congrats you were approved for $500......so the CSR I spoke with was able to resubmit the app for me and get a decision right away even though everytime I applied I kept getting the 7-10 day message and the first rep I spoke with just told me I was denied. If I would of listened to her and not checked my report for my hardpulls I would of just thought I was denied, and the lady who approved me over the phone asked me my social and name first to pull up the app and to make sure it was me who she was speaking to but right before she put me on hold she asked me to hold and then said oh, I need to ask you a few questions first (before coming back to tell me I was approved) but she asked me my income, phone number, mother maiden name. She pretty much had me verify my whole app.

I dont know. Their Credit Solutions confuses me! I would definitely call back again! Good Luck and I hope you get someone who can actually help you and fix the issue. If not then I woukd definitely use the Amazon for a few months and try walmart again. Just made sure you wait 30 days between apps even thougg walmart might tell u different. Im keeping my fingers crossed for you!!

Re: Confused

I would look to see if they pulled your CR from a differrent bureau for each one. Then match that up with the most current address each CR has on file for you. Use that info to verify your address on recon with Sync. It sounds stupid, I know, but until I read about that here in a different post, I noticed that one CR had a different abbreviation for my street that was one letter off from the other two, and then EX uses the major city name close to my town despite matching up the zip codes. Once I conformed to their version on my information, I didn't have that issue anymore. That also seems to be the major reason as to why some people get the shopping cart trick to work, and others cannot.

Anywho, start there and see if that helps.

OMG you are right! I moved recently and the credit bureau they pulled from isn't updated with my address.

Only my Experian is updated, but they pulled my Transunion.
