Re: nasa PLOC with the credit card

I applied for membership currently in pending sent in requested documents.  Applied for CC went into pending then got denied for too many revolving credit and new accounts.  I also applied for the ploc a few days later for the heck of it since its a soft pull and got instant approval for a $20k ploc under status it shows funded after I signed the paperwork via docusign.  There must be different underwriting standards for the ploc because I applied again for the cc after the ploc approval thinking I messed up somewhere on the credit card application and again went under pending and decline due to the same reasons.  Hope that helps  myfico ex score 695

NASA approval but

They want 2 paystubs and proof of paid collection. I have not paid for collection though. I was offered this today from the collection agency today.

Settlement in Full with Single Payment but is is for less then balance. Will this be ok? Its is for a cell phone bill from the end of 2011. Will it hurt or help my score? It will report as paid in full with a notation less then full balance. Will paying for less still allow me to get the new credit card?

Re: NASA approval but

It's gonna hurt......for 7 years.......However, paid collections sometime disappear with a dispute to the CRA.........YMMV

Re: NASA approval but

The collection has been on report for 2 years already, if I pay it  today will the date start over for it to fall off my report? Will settling account for less allow me to still get this credit card? This is what they requested.

I believe so, as it stems from the date of last payment... but I could be wrong.

Re: NASA approval but

When you talked to collection agency did you try to negotiate PFD (payment for deletion)?  If you are not going to let it age off and you decide to stir the collection hornet nest, it's usually best to first dispute and make them validate.  You can then attempt PFD.  As someone already mentioned, there are other options if you decide to pay ... better results with this down the road a few months after you've paid it.

I don't think so..........personally, if it is a legitimate debt I would pay it off then dispute it.......lenders don't like collections....some severely dislike collections where the debt is legitimate.  I'm sure soe of the experts will chime in on this.

It would take almost 5 yeasr to age off. It would post paid in full with notation less then balance. They main question is if I do pay for less with they still approve my credit card.
