As Spock duly notes '...having is not so nearly a pleasing feeling as wanting, it is not logical but it is so' this is in part why we can actually relish the moments until blast off with anticipation and are happy to wait. Newbies, those with a time sensitive agenda, or desperate for credit, perhaps not so much.

Established users have also been requesting cards to be expedited, simply because they want to get the card ASAP.   I can see the argument as "Why not?" in those cases when it is free to do so, although it is not something I have ever done.  But it is not constrained to those you list!

Sure, agreed, neither have I but if it's free why not...wasn't necessarily intended to be an exhaustive list, however, this group appears to fall squarely in the catchall category of 'those with a time sensitive agenda' (real or just prefer instant gratification).

this group ehe? i could careless how long the card takes to come. the amex 3x cli's are really coming to mind

Actually seasoned card holders are generally not waiting by the mailbox every day for a recently approved card. It's understood that the time it takes to receive a card can vary, especially during a rush and does not necessarily reflect on the overall level of professionalism of the lender.

In any case, it's a tool, not a toy.

+1

Agree 100%

I'm impatiently waiting as patiently as I can ha! Just because I'm the type of person who gets a little crazy with anticipation when I'm expecting anything in the mail! I just want it to get here already! At the same time, I'm not going to bad-mouth NASA for taking longer than expected.

I don't think the part that says "or desperate for credit" is a negative comment (saw someone say "be nice" or something after this post). Some people...well are desperate for credit. Hell, I was a few months ago. I "needed" it badly. Not so much for spending sake but I was getting out of rebuilding and I was working on my protfolio of cards. I was deseprate to get my AMEXs.

Exactly.

I appreciate the insults; I expected nothing less from you.  However, I'm hardly desperate for credit.  Smiley Happy

Don't feel bad, I applied on the 23rd and I'm still "pending" - everytime I've contacted them (email,. phone, facebook) the answer is "we are really busy".

edit: yes they pulled EX on the 24th
