No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
You can always try them again when it ages to their acceptable risk level. After all, they are being pretty generous even if it's on your CRs instead of a flat out denial where some lenders don't want any BK on your CRs. Time is your friend.
It is taking me forever to open an account and apply for a credit card!
I have been trying to get my savings account opened since Friday September 26th! First they wanted a copy of my DL and SS. Sent them in.
I was approved for membership but they said they couldn't fund the account with my debit card and wanted a check or money order. I sent a personal check to them for $100. Now the check is listed as on hold until October 23rd!
I have several years of credit and an AAoA of about 18 months. EQ Score of 696. In my wallet:
Cap1 Secured: $1300
BoA Rewards: $6000
Walmart/MC: $6000
Amex Zync: $500 hard limit
Chase Freedom: $1500
Discover IT: $5000
Cap1 Quicksilver: $10000
Have you heard of anyone else having a hold put on their check?
Should I wait until my account is funded before applying for a CC? Does it matter?
Should I even bother applying after all these problems I'm having with just opening a savings account?

You could have funded your account with a CC/PayPal or via ACH from your bank account. Checks and M/Os take forever IMO but at least they have it, albeit on hold. Some folks have applied for the NASA CC without funding the membership portion. Keep in mind though, regardless of membership, some folks can be HP or SP for the CC application, YEMV.
The decision is ultimately up to you, are you patient enough to wait for about 20-30 days to go through the entire process? And if approved, your CC may take some time to get to you. I have quite a bit of patience when it comes to these things so I can afford to wait a while, but if you're in the I want everything yesterday camp, then you'll have to ultimately weigh the pros and cons.

IIRC, some folks have reported something similar. Unfortunately, they won't reconsider based on those reasons.

My BK was discharged in 2/2010 and was shockingly approved. Don't know what other variables they use to decline on top of the BK though.
Approved on 09/23 for CC but still no CC
Just an interesting update for all:
Credit card approved -20k
Auto Loan Refi Approved - 25K
Just applied yesterday(2 weeks after other card and refi) and got a DENIAL on Line Of Credit. They said too many inquiries. Didnt need it but figured it wouldnt hurt to have it using the same pull in which they did. Just thought it was interesting they would extend the card and refi but not a credit line. Guess they didnt want EVERY egg in the basket for all 3 products.
I always PIF and have no baddies

I've been following this phenom since since it became TNBT on the forum. Their max across all lines seems to be 50k. So, you'd only qualify for 5k ploc or less. Take what ya got, and enjoy.

Im completely happy with what I got, but if you are stating 50K what if I wanted to do new car loan(Refi Paid off assume) and I have a 20k credit limit on my card; would the max I could qualify be 30K?
