Considering a Small App Spree

I haven't been around in a while and figured it's time for me to do something productive.

Chase

For the first time in a very long time, I'm under 5/24, 1/24 if they don't count Mortgage and Auto Loans. I'm considering picking up a few chase cards (Ink Business Cash, Ink Business Unlimited, possibly FU). My current line-up is CIP, 2xFreedoms, AARP, Amazon Visa, Marriott, and Ritz. Is Chase still cool with multiple current apps?

BofA

Does anyone have experience with timing a new BofA app alongside with a CLI on an existing account? Is it possible to achieve both around the same time? What are your recommendations on the sequence for this?

Synchrony

My Marvel Card sits at $10k, interested in bumping it up to at least $25k. I hear this isn't the credit solutions arm? Is that true? Is it a hard pull?

I have a Living Spaces card that also needs a bump. I hear this is a hard pull, what type of limits do they provide? Ideally I'd like a bump up to $25k+

Amex

I smell a 4506-t coming with a new CLI request coming their way after I'm done w/ the above. I can ask for $18k, $48k or $72k.

No, they are not good for multi-apps any longer. They have really tightened up recently so if you plan to get those two biz cards I would spread the apps apart by at least 3 months, 6 months if you can swing it. My concern would be the number of cards you already have with them and the possibility of having them take a closer look at your accounts as a result. They have been real finnicky lately.

BofA

They no longer require HPs for CLI requests. If your concern is making sure the appropriate limits are placed where you want them I would first app for the card you want then requesting your CLI. If the request reshuffles your limits around to accommodate your request I believe you can reallocate it accordingly but I can't remember if that requires a HP or not.

Synchrony

As far as I'm aware Credit Solutions is still an option for now. Someone correct me if I'm wrong there.

AMEX

That depends on how comfortable you are providing IV if/when it is asked for. You can always back out of a IV request and lower your requested amount little by little til you receive an instant approval.

Hi Op,

I agree with simplynoir!

Chase

instead of applying for two biz cards I would go for one biz first wait for approval get the card and than go for a  personal card with them that you like.

Re: Considering a Small App Spree

Sounds like I should go for the FU now and apply for the biz cards later through my BRM.

Re: Considering a Small App Spree

Don't apply for two Chase cards at the same time, even if a rep tells you it's OK. If both cards are approved, one will be closed a couple of days later.

Yeah, I'm only going to go for the FU, I'll space the biz cards out later.

Re: Considering a Small App Spree

Things have changed with Chase as others note. Do one app at a time only. 6 months apart is probably best.

With BOA, you can go for a CLI and a new account at the same time, but there's sometimes no point in doing that because if you reach your max exposure they will reshuffle the limits to open the new account anyway. This could take away your new CLI. So if you do go for the CLI first, be prepared to have to move the limits around again potentially to suit your needs. CLIs and moving limits don't generally require a HP anymore with BOA, but YMMV.

Re: Considering a Small App Spree

Synchrony must have been reading my post because they gave me a $2k auto CLI. Still, a long way from the buffer I'd like to have.

Re: Considering a Small App Spree

I applied for the Chase Freedom Unlimited and received this message:

Thank you for your request.

We need to review your request a little longer. We will let you know of our decision as soon as possible.

Thank you for choosing the Chase Freedom Unlimited.

I went for the BofA Cash Rewards, the approval thread is here https://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-Card-Approvals/BofA-Cash-Rewards-Approval/td-p/5481757

I immediately put in a CLI request which went pending.

Re: Considering a Small App Spree

Did you check the automated application status line to see what they had to say?
