$500 secued card???? Gotta be a screw up unless you accidently put down $450.000
They sent me another email today saying to call again to the Customer service protection line and they said they are doing this with old and new accounts accross the board, they just want to veryfy the income ??? But if they really wanted to do that, why would they ask for past tax transcripts and not my paystubs ? I dont get it, its BS actually.
I guess i will have to wait a week to find out what happens.
My DH and I like Discover (he much more than me) but no 4506-T for them or anyone else. Whatever cards want it we can do without. I have no problem paying cash/debit card.

Well if Disco wants to lose all their customers, maybe. I would never submit this form (and I actually couldn’t even if I wanted to because I don’t file taxes due to my income being exempt from them).
+1

This seems so strange and now multiple reports?? Is this just for the secured cards ??
Sorry for your little brother having that problem. So what should he have put on the application? That he made 0 last year? Do the banks go by the prior year only?
A little off here but this post and those links made me wonder if and when is everyone supposed to update their income? Do we do it after tax season or when?

Hi everybody my little brother turned 18 on august 30 i advised him to start with secured card from discover so he did apply and got approved he is jus turned 18 and he started working couple month ago at subway making approximately 1800 a month and he is full time college student to so he received email to sign form 4506 t we tried to explain discover the situation and they said we don't care either you sign the form or not your account will be closed in that case this is insane its just secured card how they can do that he just started working. If anyone can advise something I appreciate that
Thank you
IDK so I’m just brainstorming. What amount did brother put down for annual income? If he put $21,600 and he’s only been working 2 months, he’s only 18, and he’s in college—those 3 variables may have thrown Disco’s algorithm off.
I suggest adding him as an AU to 1-2 of your CCs that have low UT. Also he should open a checking account with a CU and setup DD. Then apply for a secured CC from the CU.
