I applied for the Citi Double Cash card and they denied me for too many inquries, pulled Experian and Equifax, letter mentioned Equifax, 24/22 inquiries respectively. Time to garden.

That is a lot of inquiries. Citi can be inquiry sensitive, and the Double Cash is definitely one of their "tighter" products i.e. not as easy to get and usually lower than average starting limits.
I'd just garden 6 months and then try again. That can work wonders.

Even half of that stated amount for Citi could produce a denial so yeah that many is way over the top IMHO with them for DC.
When I got my DC I had 5 inquiries on my Exp, and 9 when I got my Premier. From what people have posted, around 10 is when Citi balks usually but ymmv.

I had 20 inq on my EQ when I applied for the Thank You Premier and I was approved. Maybe there was something else they saw and used the inquiry excuse.
