Yeah, it looks like I'm going to have to call them directly, which frustrates me no end because it's so difficult for me to make telephone calls as a hearing-impaired person (my TDD needs a new power adapter, I hate using the "software TDD" on my iPhone, and people on the other end of the captioned telephone at my office desk always seem to have a hard time hearing me). I just can't get a straight/knowledgeable answer via secure messaging, though, and I'm not sure if asking for a specialist to message me would help either.

I, also, have had success with chat. Just yesteday I got my APR lowered through chat. No phone queues & automated systems to deal with is the big attarction for me. Usually 10-15 seconds and someone is there and ready to go.

Please do, if you would. Aside from combination of accounts, you might also ask about partial reallocation of credit limits.

Reallocation of credit limits. How does that work? When you're notified that you have a new account, do you call someone and do it? Is it automated? As I noted earlier in this thread, I'm thinking about getting a second card next month and if I get a low SL I would like to know how to move some CL from my Discover IT.
@Viva-LV wrote:My Disco history: It opened 1/15 ($6500 sl), to $12k , 5/18. Miles opened 6/16 ($6k sl), to $7.5k, 5/18. Combined the two, with the $500 cli on both, @resulting in It: $20.5k, and Miles closed. Denied cli on It last week. Approved today for NHL It (Boston Bruins - sorry Golden Knights!) @ $3k sl. Current scores: EQ 732 TU 738 EX 732 (down a bit: car loan 60 days ago). Ready for hockey season!
It's contagious! Now when I talk with chat they are unhelpful. She didn't know what reallocation meant at all and she told me you can't "share" credit limits. Clearly you can reallocate the limit because Viva-LV did.

Did you mention that to her?
Here's a success story, in combining cards, from Pizza1
DISCOVER-COMBINED-LIMITS-SUCCESS
Part of it says you need to have a cli available and decline it, then call and request the combination.
And both cards must be 1 year old.

I think I would go for it but then again, I have no patience..
It's a SP though so no harm..
Good Luck!
After the statement was online, I gave it a poke. They offered a $500 CLI, but I didn't take it. I'll leave it in case I decide to combine. $5K is a nice round number as it is.
