Customer TU and free EX I think.
Yep, TU through CC logins, EX through free Scorecard login, and EQ through the Pre-Qualify webpage. All three pull FICO8s except the pre-qual will pull FICO XD if there's no history accrued yet.
My data point;
Received my first card (Secured Discover Chrome) in July 2017. Graduated at the 7 month mark in January. A while after the one year mark in July this year I started checking the Pre-Qualify site to see if what chance I had to get a second IT card. Always denied/no pre-qual offer given due to 'Number of Discover Accounts.'
Well, I purchased a car this past month and with no future plans for big loans, I went ahead and applied for a second card through the Amazon promotion, even when the pre-qual still said no. Instantly denied, and called the Recon line to chat with someone. After some chatting and a 'minor' change to the application info I sent them, the CSR was able to approve my second card!
That 'minor' change that made the difference? Student status. Now, my understanding from what I've read on DoctorofCredit is that an individual can only have one Student card. Does this limitation really mean a 'student' may only ever have one card from Discover? My first card (originally secured) was not a student nor did it have any student information in the application. I only started back in school this current semester, Fall '18. The way the CSR was phrasing it to me was that an individual can only have one Student card at a time, but unless the Secured card was being considered a student card, I should have met this particular criteria. Also, I had applied for the regular Discover IT through Amazon, and had not selected the Student Discover IT that was listed on the site. I had only included the student information after the Amazon page forwarded me to the Discover application site.
Anyway, yay second card with 5% categories and a second year of double cashback! And now two Discover cards with 0 apr to boot lol.

Nikel: Congrats! Great workaround!
What was the reason you couldn't get a second Discover without it being the Student version?
Thanks!
I honestly wasn't trying to get a student card. I had just been entering student information when trying to pre-qual or during this application, not realizing it would be considered a student application even though I wasn't specifically applying for one of the student Discover cards. Once the CSR removed the student status, the approval went through without a hitch.
The good grades statement credits would've been a nice bonus, but oh well lol.

...
Thanks for the response. Does it only update once? And if so, which card (1st or 2nd)?
My Data Points:
I am still under 0% from first card.
$2,000 balance on first card.
Balance varied from $0 to $8,000 throughout the intial 0% period.
Charged $15k - $20k through the card in the last 12 months.
Made at least 2 payments every month.
$400 cash back (before double) sitting in my account unredeemed.
1st card SL was $8500 I believe.
3 CLIs within a year totalling $9,000 = $17,500 cl.
I got my second Discover It cash back approval 53 weeks after 1st one was opened.
$7,500 SL
0% for 14 months
Double Cash back 12 months
Ex Fico = 730 with 1 inquiry
Tu Fico = 740 with 2 inquiries
Eq Fico = 720 with 3 inquiries
3 new credit cards before this one this year.
15% utl (0% apr)
Total Discover exposure = $25k.
I burned discover about 6 years ago, so they are very forgiving.
No paperwork requirements for either card.

Wow, very nice. 25k after burning Disco 6 years ago. Id say they are liking the spend you put through the card more than not. Most of us couldnt get 25k in a lifetime with clean history lol. Hope i never read a "I hate Discover" thread from ya haha
Yes, they have been very generous to me.
I am doing my best to repay the favor.
I don't see any future issues, if so, I have other cards.

AJC and people in the garden know, that my Discover has never gotten a CLI in the almost 2 years I’ve had the card. No matter how much I charge or not charge or even when I’ve done BTs and paid them right away the card never gets CLIs and also no preapprovals for a new card.
After my last CLI denial Thursday, I checked the prequal and for the first time I was prequalified for the IT and Miles cards with their lowest APR (13.46%), Cashback match, and 0% APR for 14-months for BTs and purchases. 😶
I’ve been gardening without escaping for 6-months, so it’s tough for me to jumped on that offfer for a second card after my bad experiences with Disco.
I also feel like that offer could give me a card that might actually grow. I’m thinking about it. Should I go ahead?
Do you need another card?
Do you need the 0%?
Do you need the 10% rotating categories?
Only you can answer these questions.
How much lower was your Fico when you opened your first Discover?
If dramatically better now, you may get a much better card this time.
GL!
