I didn't burn Discover, never had them. I see this add pop on on various card websites. I am 1 year out of a chapter 7. EQ 641 TU 656 EX 674. How long should I wait to apply? I have heard at least 5 years? Anyone had any luck getting approved after BK?
IIRC, some individuals may get approved in a much shorter timeframe than 5 years but would depend if their credit profile and income supports it. If you are a year out, chances are best to hold off for a while.
They are BK Friendly. I just got approved 2 weeks ago for the IT card. It was with revised terms, and $800 CL, but hey I am in..and VERY grateful. I have re-built very heavily since my BK7 back in FEB 2013. They liked that and my CCD Util is 12% I tried at 1year, and instant no...2 years, instant yes
With time they will let you in, they are not as "mean" and other CCC
How long would you suggest to wait after BK7?
They are somewhat friendly if you didn't burn them. If you did plan on waiting a while... I've yet to see a quick approval from someone who included them in a BK.
I applied in 2013... 4 years after filing BK13 and was denied.
I was approved in 2014... 5 years after filing.
I didn't burn them.
Thanks for the info!

I was approved for 1600 on 4/2014.....BK 7 discharged 6/2012.
I didnt have to call recon......but I also did not get any kind of promo.
Since I had the card, I have been getting auto increase of 200 every 6 months.
I am 1 year and 1 month post BK7 and was approved last week for $4,500. So, i think it depends on your profile after BK..
Try and get your Eq and TU up to atleast 690 then go for it! Better safe than sorry when I first got the discover it it took me 3 tries to finally be approved and when they did they started me at a mediocre 750$ limit. They may start you low at first but they'll come to pass all of your other cards eventually. My Grandmother has had her Discover Account since March of 1986 and her limit is in the 5 digits. Her limit is insane she has the Discover More card at the moment until they call and offer her the It upgrade I am sure.
