DW now has TWO different Discover it prequal offers... both with firm interest rates, not ranges.
Does that mean that she's ACTUALLY preapproved?
No prequals from Citi or Chase... yet. ![]()
I would say she has a great chance! Mine were that way and came out approved without a HP, so seems no harm no foul

I agree. I was recently pre-approved for the Discover IT and Chrome cards with solid APR's. Not the best terms but I decided to app for the IT and I was instantly approved with no hard pull.
The odds are definately in her favor so if it's a card that will be of use to her I would say go for it.
Looks like she has a pretty good chance. Do both offers have the same terms?
I just checked the Discover prequal site a few minutes ago myself (having checked last month to see what might come up and having been turned down), and got single-figure preapproval offers for two versions of the Discover IT, the 14-month zero-APR version and the 6-month zero APR/18-month zero APR on balance transfer version. Offer is valid until next Thursday so I have a bit of time to think about it. It's rather curious that I got a preapproval considering that I applied for a CLI on my current Discover IT earlier this morning but was turned down. If I do take this and get definitely approved, I'll probably use the rewards on my older card and then close it after payoff if I can't combine the older card with the new one.

Hello! I was just preapproved on their website, it'll be a SP?
What terms did you get? If it's a single-figure APR at a decent rate, and you believe you need/can use a Discover, think about it. You might or might not be hard-pulled when you go to the actual application; it seems to vary from person to person. As I noted yesterday, I got preapprovals for two versions of the Discover IT; I'm going to run the preapproval routine again early next week once new payoffs have reported which should boost my scores another point or two at least.
Approved!
It's her 2nd discover IT card. $5,500 starting line.
They pulled her Equifax Fico 8 score which was 674. roughly 40% utilization, no baddies.
