Ever so often I check the Discover prequal since they don't seem to want to give any CLIs of late ![]()
Almost all the time thru the pre-q I am preapproved for both of their CCs.
Early this year the offered APR was something like 20.99%. That was like back in May the last time I checked.
Today I did it and both CCs were pre-approved and the APR was 11.99%!
I don't recall seeing Discover offer an APR that low. Has anyone else seen 11.99 or better?
Also it's been a long time since I got my current Discover card, and the forum has mixed info on this, who do they usually pull from from those who got a Discover recently - I keep seeing TU and EX...do they pull both?
Last question from those who have more than 1 Discover card: I am assuming the 5% CB category is the same on both cards during the same quarter, correct? I guess it would be too much to ask for them to be different ![]()

@Wavester64 I know when I checked the Prequal end of last month or whenever it was it was pulling my EX for me....so it may be doing both just different in some areas?!

@Wavester64" Has anyone else seen 11.99 or better?"
I believe I seen an approval in the approvals thread with a 11.99 APR.
I recall seeing a few people report rates that low.
Discover only pulled EX for me in MD.

I think there have been several 11.99% APR pre-approvals posted here recently, including one for my SO. The previous month the only thing the preapproval showed for them was a secured card, but they had a significant score jump in the interim. I don't think you would see lower than 11.99 as that's the lowest APR they offer new cards atm. For my SO, they pulled only EX, but I don't know how commonly they pick that bureau. Two Disco It CB's would have the same rotating categories, but their spending caps would be independent.

Yes 11.99 is their lowest published APR.
@Wavester64 I got the same thing last week! Was shocked to see 11.99%. Haven't pulled trigger yet. Have a few more days. I'm hoping it pulls EQ or TU for me. I'm in NY. Ive been searching in creditpulls posts in most say EQ or TU. You should check there for your state.

This might help also?
I checked the Discover prequal tool earlier today before seeing this thread. Last month was 20.99%, today 11.99%. I'm gardening until I am 9/31 with NFCU and will be going on a little spree at that point. NFCU, BECU, and Discover if need be. Was stoked to see that 11.99% though. I've been checking reports on who they pull for WA state, but it's hard to find current info.

Good Luck @Anonymous , fingers crossed you get approved. Looking
forward to seeing your results.
Would this be your first Discover card or 2nd?
