for the last year or so whenever I requested a credit limit increase they always gave me this "we can't not increase your credit line at this time" but just today it took a while longer than usual and they came back with "your request is under review and we'll reach out to you within 2 business days by phone or mail" ok so does that mean they will finally give me a little credit limit increase? What do you guys think
i got the same message when i requested a CLI today. I was declined a CLI last time i requested and was given the same reason as yours.
I think you stand a chance at a CLI as they immediately turned me down flat instantly when I was denied. I was not left to wonder for a couple of days. Best wishes!
With Discover you just never know. They do not seem to have any specific reasons for the things they do.
Best of luck on the increase. Please post the outcome
Thanks
Mark
It's true, you can never tell with Disco. I requested an increase last Thursday on my Chrome and they immediately increased me from 7k to 10k. So, I went ahead and requested an increase on my Discover IT and they immediately increased me from 16k to 18k. I didn't ask for any more because I didn't really need it, but hey, you never know.
Good luck and let us know how it turns out...

This may or may not be a hopeful sign. Let us know when you hear for sure.
I tried and tried to get an increase, but got nowhere. I even posted about it, asking for tips on how to be successful....and then I got approved! So, as noted in this thread, the magic solution appears to be posting here asking how to get a CLI on Discover, waiting three days (in my case), hitting the 'credit limit increase' button on Discover, and getting approved! YMMV.
How much of you current limit are you spending?
Discover is still partially monkeys throwing darts, but they do like spend.
I really don't use it as much now as when I first got it maybe a 100 bucks a month in spend maybe that's why they have t increased my limit?
It might be hurting you, then again, the monkeys with darts might not like you (joking, mostly).
I either shift more to Discover or put a decent sized pickup order right before a statement closes to increase my odds of a CLI. I have read of CLI approvals with little to no spend, but that has never been the case for me.
