Re: Discover it CLI disclaimer for Hard Pull

This thread reminded me to request another limit increase. Two months ago they approved an extra $5k. Yesterday they approved me another $7,000!. I guess it helps considering my checking/debit/saving account is with discover so they can see how much money i have Smiley Happy

My limit is up to $38K now. Not bad considering discover had me stuck at $6k limit for almost ten years! I'm going to get this card up to $50K by the end of this year as pay back lol

Re: Discover it CLI disclaimer for Hard Pull

They funny thing is that i haven't spent much on this card in the last year. Ever since I got the chase Amazon card, i use that one for points instead of discover. I was surprised they've increased my limit so much considering how little I've used the card over the past year. At most my balance on that card is $300 and i always pay in full.

Re: Discover it CLI disclaimer for Hard Pull

Just wondering by locking Equifax/TU..How does it help? Does it prevent Discover from accessing your Credit Report while approving your CLI?

Looking into a CLI with Discover and see that they state this:

"After reviewing your application, we may need to pull a credit bureau report, which may affect your credit score. In these cases, we will proceed with the application only with your consent."

To be sure, will this mean they will NOT put a Hard inquiry UNLESS I get some kind of email where I grant them permission?

I can't risk a HP, but would love to see about a CLI.

Thoughts? thanks

Discover's CLI requests are SP. If they would like to do a HP they will tell you, and you can decide whether to authorize it or not.

It’s a soft pull unless you are requesting more than what they are willing to approve to a soft inquiry. Step 1 soft pull step 2 hard

When you put a freeze on your report, creditors cannot put a hard pull on your record. Existing creditors can soft pull you, new creditors cannot hard or soft pull you, and nobody can hard pull you.
