Congrats. No there is no way for you to increase. This is the point of being in Credit Steps. They are giving you a chance. simple use the card a lot i mean a whole lot. And pay multiple times each month. After 5 months they will reward you. with nice fat limit. got mine from $500 to 5k in 12 months. with heavy usage. $500-$3500-$5500. Currently sitting at $5500. so there you go. Wash, = use. Rinse=pay. Repeat= Do it again.

Congratulations!! You'll more than likely have to wait to increase the limit. You can ask for an increase online after your 3rd statement, and you should be enrolled in credit steps as well which will give you an auto increase after the 5th statement. My advice is to use that card very heavy (i.e. pay everthying with it - phone, cable, gas, general spend, etc.) and make large payments (even if you have to make several payments a month due to the low limit). Many people have had success doing this and were able to get anywhere from 1k-5k increase after credit steps (and some before). I got a 4k increase myself after credit steps (but I didn't request an increase before then myself).
Congrats on your approval!
Just more evidence Discover is all over the board, nothing new with this
. Shows Scores in the 640's can be approved, while 700-800's can be denials.
I think they liked that they could be one of your only unsecured cards! Congrats again, small limit, but it will grow with time and use!

Thank you all, I couldn't have done it without your help. Regarding the Discover it card; I haven't applied for it.

Ha ha, don't feel bad, I'm guilty of being a skim reader. Either that or I post before reading all the way through the thread. But hey, we're only human ![]()
And OP, make sure you take Taxi's advice and use that card like crazy. In 6 months you'll be ready for other cards (and will hopefully have a nice CLI from Cap1 by then).
I'll use the heck out of this thing. Any idea on how long it takes to arrive, 7-10 days or so?

Usually about a week.
