Update: Got a preapproval in the mail so decided to try again since I never got a HP. Approved for $1600. Low limit but better than nothing... no idea why they suddenly gave it to me!
If this is any help for you I got preapproval in November. Applied .Was denied .Several reasons( some of them NOT even true). Reconned with no luck. Never got a HP. Ok good. So in January I said what the heck while on an app spree and tried again .Being that I never got am HP on the previous denial I figured oh well what's the worst that can happen? I had already expected one anyway beforehand .Anywho, applied and was approved for $10k. Highest CL I've ever had or have. Like what? You deny me two months before then give me 10k? Yes .They are weird. Don't get discouraged. Just try again in a few months .Also sign up for their free scorecard .(I feel like thats part if the reason it was a SP). I hear they use credit reports that are usually a month or two behind. Not that it mattered for me (nothing changed in that time) but it may help for you. Best of luck. Keep building .
I think you're right...that and any pre-approval offer in the first place.
I went on their site and did the pre-qualify and was instantly approved for the discover it, chrome and miles. I took the miles and was approved with a SL of 10k.
This is the first time I've been able to get back in with them since my bankruptcy that was discharged in 2003. I did pay them back through bankruptcy though.
