Do I have to have a credit card number entered for the SCT to work?

I have never had no luck for the SCT trick to work,Been trying for sportsmans guide to give me a pop up,I am a member and I have close to 800's scores on all three AAoA is over 8 years no debt and I make plenty of income,So my question is do I have to have my credit card info for it to work,I have items in my shopping cart and still no luck,any help would be greatly appreciated

No , but make sure you add the membership in the cart. Also make sure you enter your info as it would show on the credit report. That's how I got the pop up although I didn't bite.

No. Keep in mind the SCT just works randomly for people who access Comenity websites.  Just because your scores are high doesn't guarantee you will be selected forr the pop up.

I think your chances to get the pop up will improve if you shop as a Guest, and maybe even better if you use the InPrivate Mode in IE, or Private in Firefox, or Incognito in Chrome.

If you sign in as a registered member, they already have you, so they are less likely to entice you with a different payment method.

You also have to not be in 'opt out' for pre-screen offers.  If you have done the opt out, do the opt in and wait 3 to 5 days and try again.

Even if you already have the Buyers Club Membership, I recommend adding it as the first thing in your cart.  Then add something small, my 'target magic number' is between 51 and 60 dollars.  After the pop up has been successful, you can delete items from the cart before finalizing the purchase.  If I get a card (only happened twice, including this one) I always reward them by completing the small purchase in my cart.  Others have just deleted everything and kept the card.

Then fill in the contact info exactly as it is in your CRs and type slow and hesitate for at least 2 minutes when you're done. 

If it doesnt pop up, close out the browser and try again in a few minutes.

Pop ups on comenity work for me when I check out as a guest. I didnt take the offer on this card but after I added the membership, I added a tent and then went to check out and the pop up came up. I have created accounts with comenity before and signed in and then tried to do the SCT to no luck. Guest checkout is the key.

Yes, join the club and checkout as a guest.  That's how I get them to work.  I did bite since it was a Visa and no HP!  Make sure you start completely over.  Clear everything out and see what happens.
