Does AOD still need references?

Hi,

I'm getting ready to apply for AOD's visa signature.  Has anyone been able to get this card with 1 reference (spouse at same household) or no references? Is this needed if one has a good credit history? I have a 800+ credit score, 1 inquiry, no new credit cards in 7 years. Only new accounts are mortage refi. Income is $140k. Thanks.

Yes two references are required, spouse is one option, same address can be used. DW put me as her reference. I told her if they called me I'd tell them not to loan her a dime! She keeps maxing out the credit cards! Haha 🤣 her app is still pending, they haven't called me yet.

What happens if you put 1 reference instead of 2? Does it let you submit the app? Thanks.

I would put somebody. They're particular. The driver's license pic we gave them was apparently too pixelated. They flagged it as fraudulent and demanded a passport. They're special 🥴

I'm considering applying for the AOD card in a month or two. My assumption was that the two references was a formality and that listing friends would be OK. Do you know if there's a requirement for references to be aware of the details of the applicant's finances? I guess I could talk my boss into being listed as a reference if it came to it.

references are just references put anyone that is will to vouch for you.  They don't contact them unless of course one doesn't pay their bills then they certainly will be reached out to to find said person.  Think I used two friends when I obtained card

Re: Does AOD still need references?

I applied back in May and they were still asking for 2 references.

They didn't call either of mine, I really don't think they would call them just for the apps sake.

I assume they would only call if there was an issue with defaulting.

Yikes, back to the garden for me. I won't involve someone else in my banking or debts.
