Several months ago, my application for a Capital One Venture rewards card was not approved. One week ago, I opened a Checking account with Capital One. Today, I tried to be pre-approved for the Capital One Venture rewards but it only pre-approved me for the VentureOne rewards card. In a few days, I will open a Savings account with Capital One and plan to put $20,000 there. Will I get more chances to get pre-approved for the Capital One Venture rewards card because of my new Savings account?

doubtful, you could put $500,000 in there and I don't think it would help
pretty sure there's a wall of seperation between the two
at least get the $300 bonus for your trouble though: https://www.capitalone.com/bank/bonus1500/

My personal experience with Cap 1 goes back to the year 2000. I never had a savings or checking account with them however before and after bk I had no problem getting credit cards from them. Right now I have 3 Cap one cards, Kohls Visa - 7000 cl, Quicksilver - 5000 cl, and Savor one - 3100cl.
what is bk?

GZG is right. Capital One is not a relationship bank. If you're looking to leverage deposit accounts, there are better institutions for that.
For example, USBANK is about to release a 4% credit card called the US Bank Smartly Visa Signature card. 2% back base plus up to another 2% based on deposit account relationship.
Bank of America has their preferred rewards program.
There's a few others. But Capital One and Wells Fargo do not value their deposit relationship with factoring in UW criteria.

Bk= Bankruptcy.
+1 for USBank Smartly

I would generally agree with what others have said, but I can't help but wonder if it does make a small difference. I have 4 Capital One cards and the 2 with much stronger limits were applied for after opening a HYSA with them. Granted my overall credit profile has been improving over that time, so it's hard to isolate, but nonetheless I don't think it hurts even if it doesn't help much if at all.
