Are you apping now?
I'm chatting with them now. Here's what they're saying:
you: I'm interested in applying for the AMEX Everyday card. I know that you cannot discourage me from applying, but I was wondering if you had any information regarding underwriting. I have a bankruptcy reporting that was discharged in January of 2009. Everything since then has been exemplary. Would I have a chance of being approved?
Dale : That's a great question! I can tell you that I'm not aware of any policy that automatically declines a person due to a bankruptcy. However, we do consider the credit profile in the application process along with all the information submitted with the application.
Op. imo. you are just overthinking it. its just a credit card. not a mortgage. just go ahead and app. and if declined. which is unlikely. you will at least know in the future what is needed. this is how most of us learned the parameters of credit cards. Trial and error. Good luck.
