So, I jumped on to the Amex website this morning to see if I could grab a CLI on my BCP card.
It is currently sitting at 11,100 I asked for it to be raised to 15,000 and got the "please send us your last 3 bank statements" message.
It would appear I have reached the end of their willingness to extend more credit my way.
I have 4 CCs with them: Delta Gold $15k, Hilton Surpass $15k, BCP $11.1k and EDP $8k putting me at $49,100 total credit.
I also carry the Amex Platinum POT $20k maybe this POT is also included in some of their calculations I am not sure.
I could provide my statements and would likely have my request approved, however I'm not a fan of sharing my accounts with banks other than the one I actually bank with so I will let it go.
My annual salary is north of $175k and the scores in my signature are current.
Hopefully this will answer questions some of you may have.

I experienced a similar situation last year with Amex when I was trying to get a CLI on one of my Delta cards at the time. I opted to ignore the request and since I knew that I had expenses coming that would bring me to around 60-70% of that card's limit at the time, I just made those charges and paid it off quickly. I ended up getting an auto-cli and was then able to go back in to request a cli about a month after. I guess if you have some significant spend coming and plan to PIF, you might want to put it on that specific card and see if the algorithm adjusts.
Is that their code for "you've reached the end of your overall credit limit with us" because I have a Gold, a BBP and a Cash Magnet (which I opened while drunk and continually regret) and I recently applied for a BBC and they sent me the same "give us three months of bank statements" thing. I ignored it, not gonna do that. They waited a week or two and then I assume they denied my app; I never checked back and the card never appeared.
I'd much prefer a BBC to a BBP but I guess I'll have to wait on it.

I think its their, we've give you as much as we are willing without confirmation of funds.
I know people who have provided the requested documents and gone onto have many more years of CLI's.
The main reason for this post was, it is believed that there is a cap before AMEX will start asking for documentation and this kind of lets people know it must be close to my $49,100 who have similar profiles as myself.
Regarding your BBP can you not do a product change to the BBC?

I appreciate the input.
Several of my cards already see a lot of my monthly spend, so I am not sure that I will be able to change much, I always PIF on all of my cards, maybe I should try carrying a balance, see what that does for me. Though that's going to be difficult because I detest paying interest on something I don't have to.

Been there

Sadly, no. Since one card gives rewards in MR points and the other gives rewards in cash back, customers cannot product change between them

I can totally understand not wanting to pay interest when you don't have to.
@Priory_Man it seems that in light of higher default rates and all the pandemic fraud (mostly by politicia n s and the like) those of us that are responsible re being made to go through extra trouble.
Crapital One did this to me after approving me for bout 30k in credit (and mind you I have nearly 20 years of PERFECT history with them)
I provided Capital One with the first page of each bank statement (which shows all deposits proving income) because they were concerned about my income (I also earn around what you make) and they treated me like a criminal on the phone telling me they wanted my entire statement from my primary checking account. I explained to them that I also had many other accounts including investment vehicles, etc.
Needless to say, they expose you to fraud by demanding such intrusive documents. Your credit score is the very definition of your ability to pay, so unless you're bernie madeoff they really have no legit reason to be asking for such intrusive documents particularly for those of us who have paid hundreds of thousands of dollars if not millions of dollars of credit off in full and time(the information which is contained in our credit histories).
They also cited they did indeed want to scour through every transaction on my checking ccount and that's why they wouldnt accept only the first page for three statements.
You can't win with them. Glad you are also standing up for yourself. We have let invasion privacy get out of hand in the US. One day everyone will regret it and it's stupid that people dont already regret it. sorry to ramble but I'm glad you're standing up.
