Express Next CLI Declined

Got approved a week ago for Express store card via SCT.. Approved for $500 asked for CLI same day and got denied.. Just got letter stating that they would like to see payment history first. How much history do I need before CLI??

It took about 6 months before I got my first CLI. Now I get them every two months. Hitting the luv button twice each time before getting the 7-10 day message.

Yes, I use it often.

6-9 months seems to be the norm for Express (and most Commenity cards).  You read things on these boards about immediate increases and every 30 days for some commenity cards...in reality most of us have to wait it out.  I received my first bumps (on three cards) almost two months ago and have not received another.  I have another Commenity card that isn't quite 6 months old yet and it is still being denied for increase and yet another that is almost 9 months and I haven't received anything.

Generally it helps to see some purchase and payment history before additional exposure is granted, This is usually a given.

Well, if you lent someone $500, would you give them more the same exact day when they had shown no evidence of paying you back? Probably not.

Time and patience are your friend. Use it, pay it off. Use it, pay it off. You will probably have much better luck after 6 months of history.

I understand the concept of show and prove.. Since this a commenity account I figured it was worth a shot. I figured this only due to my experience with my Overstock account has consistently increased without me having to show & prove, but every account is different. I will teport back in about 6 months with Express.
