Express Pre-Approval and AAoA question

Soooo I shop at Express FREQUENTLY, I did get a pre approval via the shopping cart trick. I like that this wont be a hard pull...however wondering how big of an effect it would have on my AAoA???

I have 5 CC's (of 3 I only really use) and averaging around 2 years old. Would this be a MAJOR hit. I don't plan on apping for much else since mortgage app is about a year out.

The effect to your AAoA would be greater than the effect of a hard pull. Plus Express grows very slow - like every 9 months $200 CLI

Re: Express Pre-Approval and AAoA question

I'm still waiting for an Express CLI, it's been around 5 months already, no dice.

AAoA, you'll probably lose a few months (3-4) if you only have 5 CC's at 2 years.

Re: Express Pre-Approval and AAoA question

According to the Express credit department it usually nine months to see a cli.  I shop here every month and 250.00 limit. For me it's a pair of pants and a shirt because I don't like to max out my card.

Thank you for the wealth of knowledge I have learned from these forums. I am logging off as of November 9, 2022. I wish everyone great success.

Re: Express Pre-Approval and AAoA question

eeekkk yeah their initial CL is a turn off.....and the CLI time table doesn't provide much either....

I'd probably do the same as you with the card in order to not max it out ...since the SL is so low on these

Pway do you find it worth the rewards? I def see this as a PIF CC since the APR is through the roof

I started with a $250 credit limit as well, but after a year & 3 months my limit is $1850. It did take 9 months to get my first cli though.

DW started with a $500 limit. I use the crap out of it and usually PIF. She got a CLI at 6/7 months, cant fully remember, card just turned a year old and is now at $2k I think. I wouldnt call it a "slow" grower. Comenity SAYS 9 months, but it is not always the case. YMMV
