Fifth Third Bank

I don't know what to do anymore -- about to throw hands up!!  I applied for the Platinum MC on Oct 14 2015 from a pre-selected mailing.  Although, the mailing said it was a pre-approval.  So I app'd and I guess it looked promising from the response I got -- enclosed pic:

So I waited and waited for any communication and on Oct 23, 2015 (9 days later) I got a letter requesting a copy of a recent home telephone or utility bill.  On Oct 26, I went to a branch and one of the workers who were in their office (not a teller) submitted/faxed the requested docs.

Everytime I call, even today, I'm told it's still pending.  I ask to speak to an U/W and they say they can't transfer me, nor do they speak to the U/W's.  sigh  I wish I could get some answer as it's been 30 days now since I've originally app'd and it's still in limbo (pending).  Aren't they by law supposed to give an answer within 30 days of apping?  I mean, if they at least said No, then I could app for something else more beneficial.

Actually, I did app for a different type of card since then, but that was for the airline miles only -- BofA Alaska Airlines 12k SL and I already got that card and the 30k miles upon approval.  Just waiting for an answer from Fifth Third  sigh Smiley Mad

Because of them wanting bill mor other identification. You should have asked for verification dept or fraud dept to see if they reviewed your documents. No law saying they have to do anything. Simply if denied you have aright to your credit report. It's it's been longer Han 30 days you may have to apply again. This happens often with chase.  5/3 is just not very good on customer service. Not sure if the even have application status check. Let me see if I can find you a real number to contact someone. Escalate the problem thru their eo. Front line csrs

can't help you.  I will see what I got.

Re: Fifth Third Bank

Nope...I haven't received any emails from them, just that letter in the mail requesting a utility bill.  I did get the phone# of 1800-457-0842, then press 3 to check the status from the "backdoor" numbers MyFico.com page.  They pulled TU for this app last month -- just waiting waiting waiting........thx

Re: Fifth Third Bank

It took them more than a month to send me a denial letter because I had EQ frozen thinking they would pull TU and couldn't they couldn't pull from TU. Have had second thoughts about reapping with them based on that.

Re: Fifth Third Bank

i have 2 5/3 cards and when I applied for a 3 they did a quick pull on TU but I didnt get any email from them and it took at least 31 days for them to send me a  denial letter saying they couldn't verify my ID.

i looked around for any helpful phone numbers, couldn't find any sorry!

now if I go to apply for a 5/3 card, the application says im out of their servicing area, while their is a bank 2 miles from me. they have a goofy online presence to me.

Interesting...sounds like I'm going down the same path, lol.  Although, this would be my first card.  Additionally, I did notice I got another letter from them or it could of been in that letter requesting a utility or phone bill.  It's that standard letter informing you of your credit score and the price you pay for credit....  "Your credit score 741  Source TRANSUNION and Date  Oct 15 2015"

Their closet branch was like 1.5 miles away from my place and they faxed my docs on the 26th and it's noted their dept received them on the 4th of Nov.

Thanks all for any research and help!!!!   I guess I'm not used to waiting over 30 days from "smaller" banks.Smiley Wink

Re: Fifth Third Bank

If you got that letter about your credit score and they price you pay. you will probably get your card in the mail any day now!!

I got that letter a day before the card came. And then a day after the card came I got a small letter with the pin.

OMG, I'm hoping, since I've been given positive signs like that letter and the confirmation after applying -- it's been 32 days now since I app'd and I'm not calling them anymore to hear "Its pending"!!

Since this app, I've already applied and was approved for BofA Alaska Airlines Visa Sig 12k SL, and yesterday Huntington Voice WMC 10k SL, and today Nordstrom increased/upgraded my store card of 1.5k to 10k Visa Sig.  So, if I don't get Fifth Third, then they need to remove that inq - fat chance lol

Thanks, skipping away.

Re: Fifth Third Bank

That is a really long time to wait on an approval, a decline from them I can see taking that long.

But, I have always received one of those letters with my credit score and the price you pay in regards to an approval with them

So, I am hoping you got it!!!
