None. No Baddies whatsoever.

Just a thin file, with only two accounts.

Ok.. You have to build your file some how and have cards on your own.  Are you comfortable cold apping for 2 cards or do you want to wait and see how Chase pans out?

I guess, I can cold-app for another card. Anything in particular I should look at? Smiley Happy

The Amex Delta gold is the easiet Amex to get. Amex likes thin files. So try that and then go back to CAP 1 and apply for the Quicksilver card - the one without the annual fee. I will keep fingers crossed for you and report back if you do apply for them.

Re: First Card... any advice?

Honestly... I think I'm going to wait, until I'm at 1 year of AAOA (just a few months) before applying for Amex, just because, I feel so uncomfortable without that... Pre-Approval.

Capital One. Any idea, how the underwriting for the QuickSilver Card (No AF) works? I feel so hesitant.

Another thing... is there a huge difference between the QS One & QS? Any Reason to avoid the MC Platinum?

I'm so worried about Inquiries. I know if I don't do this right, I'll screw this up... and get nowhere.

Ok.. Keep in mind most people don't get pre-approvals from Amex and stil get approved.  You'd be surpised that if you wait a year, you still may not a pre-approval. But I support your decision to wait.

As I stated earlier, there is a blurred line as to what CAP 1 considers "excellent, good and average credit".  No one can put a sense to it.  The difference between the QS and QS1 is the annual fee.

The platinum isn't a bad card as it is low on the totem pole.. It all depends on your needs and wants.

Re: First Card... any advice?

Thank you for submitting an application for a Capital One credit card.

We attempt to provide an application decision in 60 seconds or less. On occasion, system availability affects our ability to make a credit decision or, in some cases, we need to collect additional information. Unfortunately, we need more time to look into this for you.

Keep an eye out for additional details regarding your application via email or mail within 7-10 business days.

Until we contact you, please do not submit another application.

Not sure what to think...

Weekends are when most financial institutions do their weekly maintenance.  Right now, it is not a denial nor an approval.  So don't get dejected about it.  Keep an eye on oyur email.

You have had enough credit trauma for one day.  I hope you are Ok at your end...

Re: First Card... any advice?

I'm okay, just really upset. I mean... I'm not Mr. Perfect on paper, but... I wish I could just get approved for something.

I'm really hoping Capital One didn't deny me. I know that was a triple pull, and I probably have two INQ's from Chase (I'm sure). I imagine, I'm screwed if both don't pan out, those inquiries will kill me. :/

OP don't stress out about this. You are literally just starting out and you have a LOOOOONG journey ahead of you. Enjoy it! Yes-It's-Me is very good at this so you got a very good ally by your side. Smiley Happy as for my two cents, I think wait a couple of days and re-recon your chase app and call up capital one and see what's up. As for your Amex fear, I think Amex likes thin clean files, but I support your decision to wait on them. That may be more beneficial to you anyway, so you can build a little more history and hopefully get approved with a nice SL and APR later down the line if/when you apply. Keep doing what you're doing and remember this credit thing is a marathon not a race.

Relax.. You only racked up about 2 inquiries on 1 bureau and 1 on  the other 2.  Since you had no inquiries, it isn't a bad thing.  Calm down and the journey is just beginning.  Buckle up baby as it is long and a bumpy road...

You will be fine.  Don't let you emotions get the best of you.  This is why the community is here to support youSmiley Happy..
