I want a new AMEX card, maybe blue cash. I was a AMEX customer in 2015 with the Premier Rewards Gold Card and EveryDay Card.
Screwed up on the gold card and they canceled both cards cause they were both linked to me. Didn't pay the gold card balance in full and was 60 days late. Fully paided off the gold card. It didn't go to collections or get charged off. Have a $600 balance left on the cancled Everyday card that i'm still making on time payments to.
Just got approved for:
Capital one quicksilver(3k)
Chase Sapphire preferred(5k)
I've read a lot about the "blacklist," was wondering if that is for customers who DONT pay AMEX back like getting there accounts go to collections, charge offs and bankruptcy.
Accounts have been closed for 7 months. Wondering how long I should wait for getting back with AMEX?
CS is 680 right now. WIll probably hit 700s in a month or two. Will apply for the AMEX when the 600 is paid off.
Think they will let me back in?
You can forget AMEX, they said I prequalified for a card, and then when I applied, it got rejected before they even ran a hard credit pull per past closed account.

Yea but you had a bunkrupcy. I paid all my money back to them that I spent.
Use the pre qualifier tool and make sure the address matches the one showing on your Credit report- https://www.americanexpress.com/us/credit-cards/check-for-offers/
If you are blacklisted, they will likely not even run your credit report and just deny the app like they did mine.
Not for a while even after you pay it all back and I'm not talking "months".
I hope 20 years is long enough. Plan to apply next year.

I've been trying to get that link to work for me for like a week now. It always redirects me to :

Where is shows the list of there cards even when im signed out of my AMEX account.

What do you mean by 20 years is long enough. I assumed there blacklisting was for people who didn't repay there debits.
From what I've learned on this site, Amex is conservative but forgiving. I believe they show mercy on you but only if you've paid back every penny owed. When that is the case, call and ask about re-instating your account. As a matter of fact, if I were you I would just call them now and ask the question. If they do re-instate your account you could ask for the same account number. But since it's been 7 months since closing, not sure if that is an option so definitely make sure they backdate your new account once you get one.
Good Luck.
