Re: Have you stopped asking for CLIs?

For the most part yeah. All of my cards have usable enough limits for my spend levels so there's no real need to keep asking. I'd rather keep my overall exposure lower than go for CLIs that I don't need, since other lenders can raise an eyebrow if you are over exposed.

With a few cards, yes.

My limit with Belk is $5k, and since they don't sell bedding or furniture (at least in my area) there's really no reason for me to request the limit to be any higher.

I'm also pleased with my $15.3k CL on my NFCU MasterCard; I only use it occasionally, and I feel (personally) that it would be 'pushing it' for me to request a CLI on it due to my modest income and seldom use of the card.

I would like just a little more on several of my other cards, but I suspect within the next year or so I'll be at the point that I'll have enough, again for someone with my profile.  Smiley Very Happy

I have stopped asking,as my CL's got to where I could use them as I wish,,since I won't buy anything more than I can pay for at due date I definitely don't need or want anything higher than I have. Smiley Very Happy

Re: Have you stopped asking for CLIs?

I have on some cards. I have some cards with 20K and my favorite chase with 18K. Once my AmEx gets to 5 figures then I will porbbaly stop with them. I like having a large limit but feel bad for nothing using them after paying bills, groceries and other miscellaneous things.

Re: Have you stopped asking for CLIs?

I've stopped, as I have more than enough available credit for my needs. I went through a run of being told no all the time, so I figure I'll just manage the credit I have and pick up some auto CLIs along the way. I'm also trying to let all my inquiries age off and I haven't applied for any new credit this year.

I need to get $7450 more, and then I'll stop.

Still working on my AMeX and CSP cards. The rest I'm happy with.

For most of my cards, yes, I've stopped.  I currently have 7 cards with a total CL of $96,700 and this is plenty for my spending.  The only card that I'll likely continue to request CLIs for is my Citi ThankYou Premier.  That's mostly because I'm hoping to PC it into a Double Cash later this year and then it would become a general spend card.  The limit is currently $9,200.

Whatcha talking bout Willis.

Just being silly.   I'm still rebuilding so I've still got a while to go on the credit line requests.
