Help with Savor

DH has been waiting a while to apply for this card. He's now 6 months out from last app. He has no prequalified offers from cap one.

Scores are 800s

AAOA 5 years, but 3 on TU

No baddies

2-4 inq each bureau, none within the last 6 months expect 1 3 months ago for a business card on EX

3 apps in the last 2 years

Has cap one card that is bucketed and has never got an increase since the first one

Thought on approval odds without a prequal?

Re: Help with Savor

Pretty good IMO. You don't need a prequal to apply for a card especially with stats like his.

Re: Help with Savor

Dont feel bad, Cap1 hates me too.  Almost identical DPs. I have 2 14 year old Cap1 cards that almost never get a CLI Theyare now the smallest runts of my litter. Never get any prequal mailers. I dont even get the car loan approvals anymore.I only found out about Savor being released when it became a FOTM on myFICO My ego wont let me apply to a bank that is ignoring me.especially a triple pull

>7/2025 All 3 reports 830 - 845(F8) F9s = all 850 but my app finger is still twitching

Normally, I would be hesitant without a prequal because Capital One's prequal is usually pretty spot on. However, I think the OP should be fine, the stats look very reasonable for this card. Capital One is pretty stingy with this one but I don't see an issue here. No guarantees obviously.

Re: Help with Savor

The DPs make me think it should be an easy get; do you have any of your reports frozen? Wondering why you got no pre-approvals at all, not even a Platinum or something...

Re: Help with Savor

As much as I'd like to agree with the above posts, Cap1 has been known to deny good profiles for some odd reason. I've read DP's of many people who've had 750-800+ scores and good profiles yet have been declined. I'm not sure why that happens but it is a possibility that Cap1 thinks that users with high scores and decently thick profiles aren't going to utilize whatever Cap1 gives. Just something to keep in mind. Hopefully, if you do apply, there is an approval.

Re: Help with Savor

Update: DH applied and he was approved. Decent starting limit but high APR.

Ya he had no approvals at all with capital one and no reports were frozen. He does have a platnuim card with a low limit from them from before. Three hard pulls though :/

Re: Help with Savor

I had a $300 QS and was approved for 15k SL savor the other night.

APR shouldnt matter since this really isnt a BT card.
