How long do I have to wait to app again once I close a card to get a promo bonus for Chase cards? In this case it would be the Southwest card, I read 18mo on a dif. website, just curious about the general consensus.

Usually 24mos after receipt of last bonus but apparently there is new language that removes this.
In which direction?
The reasons why this might not be the best thing for a cardholder to do aside, I can't imagine that issuers put up with people canceling and then re-enrolling for a second sign-up bonus more than once?
I remember many moons ago when I was but a wee young GT20, I worked in a retail establishment with a store card (backed by our friends at Synchrony, though it was GE back then. Or maybe even a different bank, that's how long ago we're talking.) Typical sign-on bonus of X% off if approved. I had a woman who applied and was absolutely indignant that she had been denied, stating "I've never been denied for your card before!" Of course, I could only ask, "How many times have you gotten our card before?" "At least 10. I always get it for the bonus, pay it off, and cancel it!"
The funny thing was, we generally offered a similar discount to cardholders at least 2 or 3 times a year (on top of other rewards, of course) so if she'd been smart about it, there really was never a need to cancel the card, ever.
I read on their site it was 24 months. Dont know if thats from last card opened or last card closed with them though, it just said 24 months to be eligable again.
Least on the Freedom and CSP it is once a card once a lifetime now, not sure about other chase cards.. Language has been changed in the T&C's.
I echo the above, at least for Freedom and CSP, you can only get the bonus once, period, per person, per lifetime. The 24 month thing may apply to other Chase cards, but Freedom and CSP is explicitly just once now.
I suspect this will be a move made by other issuers in the future.

I don't like it.
But I do agree they should make it clear.
