Possibly, one would think linking an external bank account and attempting to transfer money into a credit union would be the simplest of things, you would think they would make it as inuitive and easy to do as possible. I am a member of several credit unions, online banks and banks Abound is by far my most difficult to deal with, to the point I would rather just not use the card.
At this point I am just done jumping through more hoops for a 2.5k credit card when Redstone is already giving me 5%... Redstone was a breeze for me, funny how 2 people with the same 2 FCUs can have very different experiences.
If you really want to pay a credit card from an external bank you just set up a new bill pay with address set to what is on the statement and account number being what is the main number of your card. There should not be any limits caused by the issuer. It sounds like you are trying to set up an internal payment and not all banks/CU will allow funds to be pulled in for holding.
