I'm scratching my head here...I applied for the BOA Cash Rewards card. I was denied because they wanted to see how I used my 4 credit cards I opened last year (all in April) - 9 months of history of good use. They said I had a lot of cards (9) for how long I've had a credit history (2.5 years) and were amazed at my Total Credit Limit (45K). I tried a recon but after being put on hold for 15 minutes, I still got denied.
I'm so confused...I applied 12 months ago for a BOA card and was told my credit history was too short (1.5 years). What in the heck do I have to do? Now, at this point, I just want to screw them out of money and snag sign-up bonuses because it's all they deserve. But in reality, what more can you do that offer 2.5 perfect years of perfect credit history? I was going to apply for Better Balance Rewards today as well, but won't now.
My credit history is 2 1/2 years. My CR is spotless - no negatives, lates, etc.
My scores:
TU: 761
EQ: 758
EX: 753
Any advice here? I also just applied and was approved from 2 cards today (AMEX Gold Premier & Citi Premier).
U may even need to do joint account or a secured card with them. They are very conservative. But in the end it is well worth it. Much better than capital one that triple pulls. BOA at least makes credit limit increases worth the HP.
I think u need to try recon again and see what they say. They did not like me opening all my cards last year so I had to get a coapplicant at first.
The cards you opened last year will be a year old in April, maybe you can try again then? BofA is odd at times, I only had 10 months of history when I got my cash rewards.
Did you apply for the Cash Rewards after you applied for the PRG and the Premier? How many inquiries do you have?
I applied for all 3 cards at the same time. Each submit application was less than 1 second apart.
I had 8 inquiries at the time of applying and the most recent was 5 months ago.
