Didn't work for me. I applied for a More Rewards late at night. My application had to be manually reviewed so applying at night made no difference. I had a 775 experian score/800 TU vantagescore but no personal credit history. Didn't get the card.

You might have better luck getting an automated result. My credit history is pretty weird.

Those are some solid scores, but for sure lack of history was why you were denied. High scores with no history mean little to creditors usually.

The referenced 'hack/trick' is nothing but a rumor that spread through social media and YouTube.  Countless individuals have tried it without success.  It's not like NFCU is "asleep at the wheel" during non business hours for processing applications.   This would apply to all institutions that receive applications after business hours.

Yes, I remember seeing it on a YouTube...but a few people showed up on a conversation on that video attesting about that trick to have worked...but oh well...too much mis-information out there...I believe most of these YouTubers are there to make profit as they want you to subscribe from them some kinda paid services....However, never believed on this kinda tricks/hacks...Thanks

Oh...I am sorry that you were not able to get approved for that card. Haven't you tried again after sometime like after a few months later? And when you say that its better to get automated result then what do you mean exactly? Do you mean to apply online and get instant decision?

Re: How to proceed with NFCU

I joined NFCU this spring. My scores were well in the 700s, but my account ages and recent accounts/inquiries are terrible (see signature). I applied for Flagship and was denied. I applied for Cash Rewards and was approved, but only for $1K. I later received a 3x credit limit increase to $3K.

The person in question may not have some of the minuses that I have on my profile, but, I would caution them not to apply for Flagship first; also not to be shocked if their credit limit is not very high to begin with. Good luck to them!

Oh, and somebody early in the thread said that NFCU's prequalification page is "not entirely accurate." That is an understatement! It shows nearly everybody prequalified for every card. IMO, they should take that feature off their site it until it is at least somewhat accurate.

FICO Resilience Index: 64. Cards: 5/24, 2/12, 2/6. Accounts including loans: 8/24, 4/12, 3/6. Card CLs total $213,900, or $240,400 including the AU card. Cards (oldest to newest)

Re: How to proceed with NFCU

This is exactly how I opened mine. Probably the easiest way to open an account I've ever experienced.

Her membership is approved and the opening of the account is waiting for that $5 minimum to fund the security of the savings. I applied over the phone and used my debit card to provide the savings funding with the CSR, and it was immediately established. She could likely call in and ask to do the same.
