When I was a kid in the 70s, you could win an argument about who's dad was better just by pointing out your dad had an AmEx card.🤣
They were that hard to get!

If they want you to make a payment before the cycle is up, they will tell you.
Interesting. Thanks. Yeah I'm not gonna get it right now, Aim High and others talked me out of it. But I'm laughing to myself, what kind of spending limit would they give me because I have 4 starter cards with a max of a $500 cl. I mean, it would be crazy for Amex to approve me for this right now.
@Aim_High will never steer you wrong He knows all about these cards that the 1% use
Back when I was graduating with my BA my brother thought I should have an AmEx card so he applied for me and I was approved. It was prestigious at the time.
imagine if they gave you a secret 500 CL and they're making a 100% return with the annual fee.
almost all my friends have amex platinums. its really lost its luster. people have posted in the past about getting these cards with 600 FICOs. when I used to read whogavemecredit also, it seemed approvals were easier to get. its a low risk card for them because of it being a charge card and a giant annual fee.
There is a plat card with colors etched into that's pretty but still not worth it lol and using their airline credit is a PITA.

When I got my Platinum card back in 1985 I thought I was pretty hot stuff. Now, yeah, I seriously doubt I'd ever go for one again, even if AMEX does let me back in.
Chapter 13:
I categorically refuse to do AZEO!
I'm a HUGE fan of Amex...and am always being offered the Platinum upgrade...but $695 for one card is just too steep for me.

I'm sure it's a great card for some people, I just don't get why the hell they would want me right now as I have no FICO score and my max credit limit on a credit card I have is $500 lol.
They probably want a sucker like me to donate another $695, and they'd probably be demanding I pay the card off in full after every purchase too lol.

I think you're right, they'd take my $695 and give me a small dinky $500 CL.

Typically they don't even tell you what your spending limit on the charge cards actually is, you have to use it to find out...
Buy a pack of gum, immediately get a text from AmEx warning that you are approaching your spending limit, and to please make a payment to avoid having transactions declined.🤣
@MikeyMagic Look at it this way. There is something Amex likes about you. You're making progress and that's a great takeaway.
