I soooo have a problem :)

Well, I offically can't garden. CANNOT so I must have a problem LOL. Just applied for the Ritz and got approval for $35K. Excited and grateful that this card is NOT part of Chase's 5/24 rule...

Yeah, not complaining, that's for sure! I can't believe Chase is willing to "lend" me so much. Between my four Chase cards, I'm at $85K with them! Can't wait to get the card Smiley Happy

I almost jumped at the card but the fee just blew my mind once I read online that a person should never pay for a credit card so I usually keep to that because it's sound advice for how I use my cards but I do earn rewards just don't spend to earn as in the yearly fee's but Congrats! very sweet limit for one card.

I guess it all depends on how much you travel and use the perks. I spend nearly $2K in annual fees but the rewards I get in return are WAAAYYYY worth it. I travel for both work and personal a ton, eat out constantly so that's the main reason why it works for me. For example: The Ritz card has a $450 annual fee. The first year you get two nights free at a tier 1 - 4 Ritz and complimentary gold status (for where I would stay, worth up to about $2K) which gives you many perks including a 25% booster on your Ritz points (you can maintain if you spend $10K annually on that card). You also get a $100 credit for incidentials, spa, dining, etc. per paid two night stay. On top of that you get a $300 airline credit that can be used for upgrades, onboard purchases, baggage and lounge access. This is nice because I am out of Denver and there are no PP or Centurion lounges there, so I can buy my way into DL, AA or UA lounges. You also get the Visa Infinite perk of $100 off intineraries for two or more people when booked through thier site. Thier site pretty much matches the airline's pricing, so this benefit could save you a ton as you can use this feature as many times as you want. I get not wanting to pay annual fees, but if you can make those fees work for you, why not?

Re: I soooo have a problem :)

Congrats on the killer approval, and you're not alone with your card impulse control. I told myself 3 cards was my max then Garden for at least 6-12mo. Here I am less than a month later with 6 new cards + 1 Au and now I'm saying to myself "just this last share secured loan with my CU since I've got no installments. Then the garden, for real this time! But dang I really wish I had gone with bluecash preferred instead of my 3% everyday. Maybe...."

I'm probably going to pickup the Ritz in a few months with the end goal of folding the cards reportedly far more generous SL (compared to pure chase branded cards like my CSP) into my CSP after the first year.

The fee is rediclousl but I can make it work for the first year to come close enough to breaking even on the AF that for someone like me who just very recently hit 6/24 all at once it's worth it to be able to boost my $5k CSP beyond the $10k I'll need to PC to reserve. I got in with chase by the skin of my teeth and don't have high growth expectations.
