I was able to do three for single 1 HP on EX. I apped in the order of C>R>R. Two instant approvals while the third got held up by the Amex System for five days.
@Zorasmiles wrote:RECENTLY AMEX HAS BEEN DOUBLE PULLING FOR THOSE WHO APPLY FOR A CHARGE AND A REVOLVER ON THE SAME DAY. Let's put out heads together and see what the new trends are. Some have reported that their initial SL's on the first pull are low but second pull revolver SL is high. The Credit Pull Database doesn't have enough information in the flurry of pulls that I see here on myFICO. So, if you can copy and paste the below questions and place your responses into your reply, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I'm considering applying for another charge and revolver but I don't want two pulls as I've seen in a few threads lately. I figure if we can get some solid numbers of recent apps and the results it might let us know if AMEX is changing things up a bit (sign of things to come perhaps). Thanks to all who participate or can contribute in anyway.
Green Card. revolover is Amex Delta skymiles.
Experian. which is always.
no second pull.
1 collection 5 years old bright house cable bill. paid in full. no lates or judgements.
At time of approval. Ex 661 AAOA 6 months. utilization was about 12 percent. i think. no other amex cards. first time membership.
March Madness getting the best of me and not paying attention to the caps...didn't mean to shout

Honestly, I'm trying to figure out if the multiple pulls people are typing when requesting a charge and revolver are a new change by AMEX or perhaps it's based on other factors within an applicants credit profile. I was able to get by with only one pull but since I'm considering another charge and revolver, I'd prefer not to take a chance on a double pull.
App'd for ED Jan 20th 2015. EX (661) was pulled for approval. No INQs 1 CO 2 baddies.

CAPS make a post more visible.
yeah I have been hearing about the double pulls very recently too
App'ed for the ED on a Sunday night around 9pm. Instant with a $500 limit. I have a 7 years old BK. The rest of my report is clean. UTI was 25% at the time with a total of 35k in CC limits. EX score 712. Monday morning app'ed for the BCE about 10 hours later. App stayed in a pending state until that Saturday morning. Check the sight again, and stated approved. I called in to see what my limit was. 8K. Hope this helps.
OP it could simply be there's something untrustworthy on your account (even if it's minor) and Amex is now being more cautious with it's members who have had prior history they don't find appealing. This is quite common with other creditors...multiple pulls for a couple of cards. It's not the end of the world and you'll be alright.
Good luck! ![]()

SecretAzure, perhaps this may be the case with the people who I have seen reporting the double pulls. Now, my accounts with AMEX are always PIF, never late and zero issues ever with AMEX. Capital One will pull all three agencies with an 800 score and no negatives. Trust me new TL's aren't the beginning or the end of the world for me. I started the thread out of curiosity and not wanting to waste an extra pull lol I'm not concerned about a denial, it's the extra inquiry. I thought that perhaps if I was thinking about AMEXs' current trend perhaps other members might be thinking about it as well--hence why I started the thread. Sorry if anyone took it for anything else
FYI....Luck not needed LOL
