I am not in Chase ecosystem yet. I have been cleaning up my credit and have been able to purge myself of all negative items on my report. Current FICO SCORES 712 EX TU 705 EQ 731. I'm current at 4/24 and have my eye on Chase. I really want the CSR cause I do travel. My only downside is that I don't have more then 1 year of credit card history other then an AU acct that has 9 years of age. My 4 personal card are all under a year old. What are my odds for Chase approving me for either the CFU to get my foot in the door or going straight for flagship CSR card that I really want. Need help
You can get approved for a CFU or CSR with a 712 EX FICO 8 score but the reason(s) why it's a 712 score are relevant. You can start off by going here and see what you can get for preapprovals:
https://creditcards.chase.com/check-for-preapproved-offers
Their preapprovals are generally pretty solid, probably the best-known caveat is that they can preapprove with a BK reporting but there are very few anecdotal examples of Chase approving an application with a BK reporting even if very late stage.
Overall odds are better if you already have at least 1 bank card with a CL at or greater than the minimum SL of the card you apply for i.e. at least $5K if you apply for a CSP or $10K if you apply for a CSR.
Lastly you can keep in the back of your mind that after 12 months of clean history with a CSP it can be upgraded to a CSR with a phone call as long as at that time it has at least a $10K CL, and Chase now processes CLI requests on an existing card with just a soft pull.

1. Welcome to the forum.
2. Sorry to say, it would be much easier for you to get approved for the CFU than for the CSR. The CSR is generally only for people who have had significant credit history with credit limits > 5k. So think of it as a goal card, for down the road.

I agree with Coldfusion totally. Chase pre approved me with a green star for the CFU with a 8 year old BK. I dare not apply. They were unfortunately IIBd for me.
If there is a BK reporting I'd suggest other lenders until it falls off. As stated, some have been lucky to get in with a BK showing and IIB'd but it usually involves manual underwriting and a compelling file.
If you are a high net worth individual you may be able to get in through private banking.
but....the case for most...
Plenty of other lenders out there.
Good luck!
Solid advice and **bleep** that's a lot of cards and credit
