Grrrr Barclays...apped for the JetBlue Plus after nabbing PRG/SPG and BoA Amtrak. TU on ice so they pulled EX. Called in to recon, got the "we'd like to see more history" message for my 7 new accounts in 2016...that are all 6 months old. But analyst said some of them only have 4 months of payment history! I asked if my 100% on time, PIF habit and <5% utilizaiton mattered at all, she said no. Second analyst on the phone gave same answers. Blurgh, wasted a precious precious EX HP. Off to the garden I go!

Barclays seems funny to me, they wanna either see more history on other accounts or flip a coin and then get mad at cha for having other accounts..
Same message I got when I called about apping for the CashForward card. Even got the letter today stating "Too few accounts with sufficient satisfactory performance." But then 6 days later I got instantly approved for the Cap1 Platinum card. I might try again in about 6 months but not sure now after I've read a lot of recent bad reviews about Barclay and their customer service. I hope OP has better luck with the next app.
There are many better lenders out there than Barclays..
Thank them now – they did you a favor. Now come play Barclays chess with me.
First Move
Barclays will approve you for a card. After you get balance on it, and pay it off.
They will CLD you and accused you of cheating them.
Second Move
You get limit restored – charge some more and pay balance off. But, no longer used the card for a while.
Then they will CLD again- and say you cheated because you got inquires or new accounts with another bank.
Third Move
You called them about move two – And they will give you some more bogus reasons at to why they CLD on move two.
When you call them on it.
Then Barclays will claim that chess, credit and fico scores was invented to cheat them.
Checkmate!
Barclays Humor

I know we live in bubble , so to speak , here at Ficoland, but one slight advantage is it gives us a slight glimpse into each creditors world, good or bad, and it can really help guide our decisions on who we want to deal with or what card we would like to app for.
I know its often said, these things can happen with any cc company etc etc, but what ive seen with Barclays, i would personally just prefer to app elswhere. I dont need my having other creditors to be an issue, warrented or not. Congrats on your Cap One by the way Marc
Thanks! It made me feel better that I was approved for it after Barclays denied my app.

I got denied myself for the Arrival Plus last week. Called to Recon and same reason the OP received.
Analyst even said.. We just gave you JetBlue Card and we want to see more history on that. Good thing I've only had 2 INQ on my TU and this makes it my 3rd. No points lost on my TU score.
If I would have gotten approved for the Barclay Arrival Plus, then I would have not appd for the Amex Platinum.
Barclay's almost comes across as a sub-prime lender in the UK. And I work not far from their corporate office on 7th Ave in Manhattan, and I'm not impressed. Like someone already said... there are other, better lenders. To deny you with a 753 EX, really? Don't sweat it, OP.

Is this the one in midtown close to Times Sq?
