Just a Navy Christmas DP

I am thinking about just having them close my cashRewards and put the limit on my Platinum. I would rather have a single $14,700 limit card than have a $2K card I never use and a $12,700 Platinum. No way I'm giving up that 7.74% APR but I'm still salty that Navy cranked my cashRewards from 11.4% to currently 16.74% when I PC'd to More Rewards. 

You are crazy with all those HPs though... how many do you even have from Navy? 10? 😂

Lol, i WAS down to 17, now back to 18 boo. And yeah, i think 8 or 9 belong to Navy. Call me below average for my Navy crush. I gotta step away from them for awile for real.


Actually your plan sounds good. You could always get another CR later.

Navy doesn't really seem like they want me to have more cards. That big NO on moving my limit to open a new More Rewards and all...

I haven't totally decided that I'm going to close it yet. We will see if they offer a $0/0% BT this year for existing members. I have about $3700 in credit card debt right now and I would want less than 10% utilization. If that doesn't end up being a problem, we will see if they drop my APR back to 11.4% in February or not. 

I have quite a few HPs from Navy too. Tired of burning them.

Yeah using up hps like tp isnt fun for me either. Comes a time when you have to take a breather. Were my income higher i think i could get away with endless pulls but low income, high amounts of hps and debt arent a good mix. I hope to make it to next December to see how far ive come credit wise

I just went and checked. 

EQ has 3 and TU has 2 in the last year. 
EQ has 4 and TU has 2 in the last two years. 

That's a lot of HPs for a single lender. And it actually looks like TU dropped one of my HPs. I should have 7 total.

Wow, it looks like I should quit while I'm ahead with Navy. I hate wasting hard pulls! I do love Navy, though...

I was tentatively planning on apping for the Flagship card in the summer of '20, or maybe fall. I want to have enough income to make the minimum spend for their sign-up bonus. (Assuming they're still offering it.) But there seems to be no rush. I'm really, really happy with my cashRewards MC and MoreRewards AMEX, though if I could get an additional 1K CLI for the cashRewards card, I would not complain...

Thank you @Anonymous . Its ok, ive achieved so much with Navy, all those hps combined were worth it. Ill just let my internal score grow more while in the garden
