I apologize if this is repetitive. I have been a long time lurker here. I have several Synchrony cards and I have been hesitant to hit the luv button. What is the latest one on initiating a CLI? Hard or soft? I see they also ask for a desired limit. What's the advice on the suggested amount based on experience?
@EnriqueC Welcome to the forums.
In my experience with my 2 sync accounts whenever I applied for a CLI there were no HPs attempted and in fact my reports were locked when I received several CLIs. 2024,2023,2022 etc. I usually request every 12 months.
I usually asked for 30 to 40 percent increases and a few times I was granted more.
Good luck with your CLIs request and let us know how you came out.
Appreciate the feedback. I went ahead and requested CLI' on all of my accounts. I did have success with my Sync retail cards but not with my others (PayPal, Venmo, Sync MC). I got a bump on my Lowes from 3K to 5K, Sam's Club 6K to 7.5K. No hards reported.
What about Comenity? Are they still doing soft pull CLI'S on their products?
@EnriqueC Congrats on the CLIs. My Comentityhas acted the same way as my Syncs. No Hps received. As always YMMV.

Sync had balanced chased me a little over a year ago on my CareCredit down to 1930 CL. I gave a tentative touch on the luv button on 10/7 to test the waters, wasn't sure what to ask for either and put it at 2500. Approved immediately. I then regretted my decision on the level chosen as after some reading it looks if you ask higher then they like, they can give a counter offer.
My cat will get a mass removal and dental end of Dec, so until his insurance reimbursement comes in to pay off the 0% deal period, I want to keep util low on the CareCredit. Asked yesterday 11/29 at 2x CL (asked for 5k), and immediately approved again. I won't touch luv button again for at least 6mo as I don't want to provoke the Sync bear with too frequent CLI requests, but it looks like 2x/2.5k isn't at their cap to approve.
SP with all credit reports frozen.
Synchrony Amazon started me out with a $1000 limit. I had to call in to ask for a CLI but they raised it to $5000 with no hard pull.

Yes, but you might want to reconsider your plan and wait a couple of months before proceeding as Synchrony in particular is nowadays sensitive to this practice and multiple cardholders who have done it with Synchrony granting multiple CLI requests discovered within a few weeks that Synchrony took Adverse Action and closed all of their accounts even when the cardholder had a clean current and past payment history.

The only reason I even have the Synchrony Amazon is because I burned Chase in a bankruptcy and Chase is one of those "never show your face in here again" banks.
Most Synchrony cards offer harsh terms unless you PIF each month. They're always trying to figure out how to charge fees. (Like the PayPal one.)
