@Anonymous wrote:Ok so based on this thread, since I apped for the Hyatt and IHG end of july, and after a few calls and recons nly got the IHG approved..... is there a chance I could apply for hyatt again and get approved if I just wait? Call in if it says i will be notified in 2 weeks ...
And a week after applying go for another cobranded card?
I am probably NOT going to do this but I am just curious.
It's entirely possible. It worked for me. If you do decide to do it, I would go to the partner's website and sign up for their rewards program prior to apping. I did that. Don't know if it made a difference with the app, but probably helped with setting up the chase card online timeframe. DON'T call in. If you do just call the verification dept. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT talk to UW (lending). Obviously, this is just my opinion and you're okay to do what works for you.
Ok so I found my Chase IHG letter dated July 16, 2015. This is when I called in to Lending and got an UW who denied me instantly. The letter sites the following:
1. Too many credit or loan accounts have been opened recently.
2. Too many recent requests for credit or reviews of your credit.
3. Not enough time has passed since your last account with us was opened.
4. You already have the maximum amount of credit we can offer you.
Keep in mind this letter was dated July 16, 2015. I went on to open up three other cards with Chase (cobranded) Marriott (6600), United (8000) and IHG (8000). Based on this, I would say that a call to UW would have been certain death for me on the three applications I was approved for. None of the four reasons stated for my initial July 16, 2015 IHG denial had ceased to exist by the time I was approved for the Marriott, United and IHG. I will say I also set up my rewards accounts on the United and IHG before I applied for the Chase cards. Don't know if that helped the applications to squeek by or not, but something magical certainly happened. I give many thanks to Chase for showing me love to the tune of $46,600 within a five week period. All this after repeated cli request denials on my CSP due to me having the maximum credit that they could extend. It's been magically delicious. I need a bowl of lucky charms now ![]()

Here's the response I got from Chase about the Amazon Visa card.
@saleen,
As you can see my letter has same reasons and two others but I went on to get other cards from chase. Did you call UW on the Amazon card?

Yes and that's the reason that I received a letter from Chase. As you can see she flat out denied me but then I turned around recon The decision but I had to go through verification twice and explain everything. That's how I learned that they use my previous EX credit report to make The decision.
I did learn one thing only tall to the verification department NOT UW.

I totally agree don't talk to UW at all.
With the IHG and the United airlines Chase set up a new New accounts even though I had existing accounts with both.

I learn my lesson. DON'T TALK TO THEM AT ALL. The minute that Chase look at your credit report it's over with.
