Macy's Amex DENIED (I think?)

So I apped in-store for the amex, entered all my info, then the lady got a notice to call in, they only wanted to verify my phone #, and then after I got a reciept saying they will send me a letter and blah blah.. pizza where are u, you are like the Macy's guru, idk if they recon? I guess ill wait for the denial/whatever letter. Weird thing they pulled EQ.

It sounds like a decline. Not sure on the recon but they may!

I would call in tomorrow to the Back door #, and tell them you applied in store, and they had problems with the app, and was told it could be verification, and you needed to call in.  They will find the app, and go from there.  be ready to recon If denied for the Amex, ask to be reconsidered for the store at least so you dont waste a HP. BUt, Id try like heck on recon for approval for a lower SL for the Amex.  Could just be verification.  Good luck and let us know!

I see you have the store card with a $25,000 limit. How did it get that high and how long have you had it? Your scores are good. They used to run Ex.

Unlike me and the DW, you already had a Macy's store card. We got our store limit instantly but had to call the Am Ex department for the Am Ex limit.That limit is not available at the register. 

Call the Am Ex department tomorrow from 9-5 EST at 1-800-477-2167

I have had mine since early July, and after the account combine my limit was 4.4k, then I requested a CLI to 5k, well there was a HP, and I got like 5 increases as follows, 5k to 8k, then 8k to 10k, 10k to 15k, 20k, to 25k, and I just stopped there.

I don't think you can have 2 store cards, can you? And I called the backdoor # right after I apped and they said they had no record of the app, but maybe that was because it was so fresh, ill call tomorrow and see what happens.. Thanks!!

ugh, I just now saw that you have the store card! I would have called in and asked for an upgrade to the AMEX.  Still call today !!

They don't do the upgrade anymore, I have must of called about 10 times to try and the only way to get the amex now is to apply for it. (They took that away during their last system upgrade)
