Macy's DNSB CLI Question

Hello,

I am sure this has been asked ad nauseam, but I cannot seem to find recent threads.

After an increase this year in July of $5,000, I doubled my Macy's store card to a $10,000 limit. In September, my 14 year-old store card was finally offered the upgrade to the American Express which I gladly (gleefully?) accepted.

Since the upgrade, when I attempt to request a CLI online, I get the "no-soup-for-you-call-us-for-a-HP-muwahahaha" message. As I understand it, this means they typically want to do a HP for the CLI.

Today, I received the email that my November 29 statement was available. I reviewed this online and for grins, I went to the CLI request and it allowed me to move forward. No more call-in message.

However, this message appears at the bottom of the screen next to the proceed button:

"By submitting this form you authorize Department Stores National Bank to obtain your credit report."

I know, I know, YMMV. But I can't remember if that is always there or only if they will for sure do a HP. Can anybody assist?

Re: Macy's DNSB CLI Question

@BearsCubsOtters when my Macy's card was upgraded to the AMEX version over the summer, it took a full billing cycle plus the remainder of my current billing cycle (so 1 1/2 billing cycles) to be able to do a soft pull cli request again. But now I can do it every 31 days as I was able to before. The messaging at the bottom of the request does not usually mean a hard pull once you have the luv button again. It will be a soft pull if you have the luv button. It is only a hard pull when you get the "call us" message and no luv button in my experience.

The message is always there....and as mentioned, after a bit of time...30 or so days from your upgrade, you can make the request online and go from there.

Re: Macy's DNSB CLI Question

Received the same message when I logged in to request a cli on my DH Macy's store card. Since that language sounded like a possible HP I didn't go go thru with the request.

Good to know it's a SP!
