Is it possible to get different referral bonuses? My dad sent me a referral link to the Marriott Boundless card, and the SUB with the referral is 3 free nights for $3k spend (no points). The link from Chase likes to point out that that is worth 105k points (35k per night). The thing is, I don't have any trips planned this year to use those 3 nights and they would expire in 12 months.
So basically, does anyone know if there is a way to get a referral offer of points instead of free nights? I'd prefer to use the link to get my dad some extra points, but I don't really want the free nights right now. So if that's not possible, it is either wait until at least next year when I may have a trip in mind or apply on my own for the normal SUB and skip giving my dad extra points.
Not yet. I haven't called Chase to ask yet or anything. I wanted to ask the community first to see if they have ever seen the option or tried to change the referral bonus from the free nights to points. Since I probably won't be approved until August anyway when I'm finally 4/24, I'll probably hold off and see if the referral bonus changes by then. I could maybe plan a vacation next year with those free nights but this year is booked up so I would much rather have the points instead of free nights.
