Can I get the Ritz sign-up bonus offer if I already received the Marriott sign-up bonus offer earlier this year? Some people on these forums say no; Chase SM sounds like a maybe. My common sense is saying "why not?"

You can get both bonuses. Two entirely separate bonus offers and many have received both. Absolutely no issue.

I guess Chase changed their T&C since 2013, haha. WOops. Thanks for the info Irish. I'll wait and see what their next sign-up bonus is and probably app then.
