Marriott email - pre qual or generic?

Hey all!

One of the cards I have wanted for a bit sent me this email today:

"Congratulations — you’ve been selected for this exclusive offer: Apply now and you can earn 95,000 bonus points after you spend $5,000 in purchases on the Card within the first 3 months. Offer ends 8/28/19"

I have been on a repair journey and been trying to hold off on applying for my last baddie to drop in a month 9/1. My scores are all sitting just short of 700, around 680-690.

If this is truly a pre-qual type scenario I will pull the trigger since it has an extra bonus and I want it anyhow. If this is spam that will just get me  hard inquiry and a rejection I will pass.

Thoughts?

Re: Marriott email - pre qual or generic?

Did it come from Marriott or a bank?

If it's from Marriott then it's just advertising.  If it came from the bank then it might be a pre-approval or just marketing.

Personally I would wait for the baddy to drop to score better terms in CL / APR.

Not a pre-approved offer, just a marketing solicitation OP.
