So my membership with NFCU is rather new. I applied for the Platinum and was denied due to lack of installment loans... I do not have any open installment loans. I do have 2 closed installment loans. I was also denied NFCU CLOC due to time of membership with NFCU which sucks lol
When I was denied the Plat, NFCU automatically suggested going for their Secured card. I am thinking either I go for the Secured card just to run up my internal score OR open an SSL as another suggested to me. I am also considering an Auto loan to lease a Jeep.
NFCU pulled my report 3 times between the Membership, Plat app and the CLOC. BUMMER
Thankfully I only had 1 inquiry TU & EX that count. EQ now has 2. I have been doing extremely well, in the sense of not credit seeking up until my NFCU plunge smh
Any input/advice on next steps would be greatly appreciated!

Open an SSL/personal loan with them and do the early paydown technique?
Pay below 8.9% and you get max pts for installment utilization + credit mix
Take the secured. If you profile hasn't changed since you applied their decision won't either .
Then you can start building relationship with them and will get better cards down the road
Will the amount of the SSL/Personal loan matter in regards to pts?
