Morgan Stanley Credit Card

In case that you didn't hear the news Morgan Stanley has just announced buying ETrade. Since I have my Roth IRA over at ETrade I will become a Morgan Stanley customer and presumably elgible now for the Morgan Stanley AMEX Credit Card.

When I compare the basic Morgan Stanley AMEX card to AMEX EveryDay card it seems like it has superior 2x earning categories. Plus the ability to move MR points into the IRA. Is it possible to combine MR points from other cards and move them all into an IRA?

Official travel point totals as of 10/21/24 (1,358,177 Total Points)
Chase Ultimate Rewards 696,884 | IHG One Rewards 144,957 | Hilton Honors 144,521 | AMEX Membership Rewards 102,729 | World of Hyatt 76,095 | Marriott Bonvoy 65,343 | Citi Thank You 38,153 | Choice Rewards 32,460 | United MileagePlus 13,316 | British Airways Avios 12,333 | Jet Blue TrueBlue 11,780 | Wells Fargo Rewards 2,858 | Southwest Rapid Rewards 2,447 | NASA Platinum Rewards 1,883 | AA Advantage 1,744 | Navy Federal Rewards 1,087 | Delta Sky Miles 175 | Virgin Atlantic Virgin Points 100 | Lowes Business Rewards 7,102 ($71.02) | Amazon Rewards 2,200 ($4.75) | Discover CB 10 ($0.10)

Re: Morgan Stanley Credit Card

I don't know if Morgan Stanly has different rules, but AFAIK all Amex MR points are added to the same place. For example, the Schwab Plat lets you cash MR points for 1.25 cpp regardless of whether you got it fro the Schwab Plat or another Amex card.

Current open cards:
Schwab Amex Platinum (NPSL); Amex Gold (NPSL); HH Aspire ($31,700); Amex BBP ($27,000); HSBC Premier WMC ($21,500); USB Altitude Reserve ($20,000); USB Altitude Reserve ($10,000); WF Bilt MC ($9,400); Chase Freedom ($7,300), BofA Premium Rewards ($5,000); Apple Card ($4,750); BofA Alaska Visa ($4,200); USB Altitude Go ($1,000)

Started collecting cards: Oct/2018

Re: Morgan Stanley Credit Card

Personally, as an Etrade customer, I would like to see a more reasonable CC (ie no AF) introduced to compete w/ Schwab and Fidelity cards.

Of course after posting this I found they do have a no AF Amex;

But the no AF Schwab Amex is a CB product, while the no AF Morgan Stanley is MR.

@AverageJoesCredit  essques me?   i don't think so.    Not that i would get rid of Disco, but i did the Ameriprise Platinum, so a Morgan Stanley one has no interest either.    Morgan Stanley couldn't hold Lord Stanley's cup..   pun intended-ish  Smiley Very Happy
