@kaylava thanks for the tips! I'll keep my fingers crossed with Barclays
@creditdunce thanks for the feedback! I actually have 3 credit union checking accounts.. Patelco, Delta Community, and USAA haha. USAA offered me a secured AMEX but I don't want another secured card. Patelco is pretty tough- thats my main bank where all my direct depsoits go. I guess I could check with them but last time they were really unhelpful.. they didn't even want to give me a secured card. I'm switching my main bank to USAA- my parents financed my condo through them and I've been a member since 2011 so hopefully they'll be a little easier once my credit gets better.
Penn State actually lets you pay 3 separate payments over the course of 3 months for your tuition which is super helpful but I'll keep looking for loans! Thanks for the info!
Yes, credit unions can be hit or miss. Finding one that is right for you can be a challenge.
Are we both talking about Penn State federal credit union (not the school)?

I see they offer "3 repayment options". I am sure they would give you more than 3 months to pay.
Of course, for all I know, Penn State Federal credit union could be as difficult to work with as your local credit unions.
Edit: Be sure to check to see if you parents are eligible to join Navy FCU (if they are not already members). Navy is one of the easier to work with FCU's.

Thanks for the links- I'll look into those! I was talking about Penn State the school- I didn't even know they had a CU. I'll research it a bit and see what I come up with. I also looked in Navy FCU... I heard they're pretty easy to work with. Thanks for the feedback! Looks like I have some research to do
@Anonymous wrote:Thanks for checking! Do you think it'd be a better idea to apply for the Platinum over the Quicksilver1? I've been reading that the platinum sometimes gives higher limits.. I'm assming it's because the APR is like 25% ugh! Thanks for the feedback though!
I had my Platinum for 4 yrs & got a 3k bump. QS is old & I got a 1k bump.
