Multiple of the same card

Sorry if this is common knowledge here, but is it possible for my wife to apply for a Discover card if she is an authorized user on my account?  I like their initial year cash back sign on bonus and was wondering if we could do this to make use of it again with a big family trip coming.

Yes, she is able to app for her own card, even if it's the same as her AU card.

Have her go to the prequal page- to check without a HP.

If your card is older than a year, you can apply too 

Discover allows two cards per individual.  Her being AU on your card does not prohibit her in getting two of her own. 

If you stagger your apps, between you and wife you could have 4 years worth of cashback match if they offer it during pre approval process.
