I have received a couple of different pre-selected letters from CitiBank. Are these pretty consistently approved during the application process?
I've heard if they have a set APR they're pretty solid; however, there have been some who received a mailer and then were denied. If anything has significantly changed on your reports since they last checked is one reason you can be denied.
Yes the mailers are pretty golden. You will find they have lower Apr's than if you went to the website. long as you have invitation number on them. you are good to go. which means you also have set apr with it.
Hmmm. DH keeps receiving pre-selected mailers for the diamond preferred cc.... Is this a good card?

It their easiest/lowest tier card. Kinda pointless for most, but if you want your foot in the door with Citi than that is the card to do it.

Don't expect any huge SL from them either.
Thanks for the info. I will let him know. He is already in with Amex for 7000 and NFCU for 14500... It probably won't be worth it

Family member was approved for the DP a few months ago at 9k. account isnt even 4 months old and offered a soft pull credit limit increase to 11,200.
Agree its the most pointless of cards with them.
I would keep checking online for prequal offers it seems to get them mailing more offers. I started off with tons of DP offers , then eventually started getting simplicity and then DC. My offered rates ranged from 12.99 to 22.99 online. I took 13.99 from the double cash mail offer.
You could always change the card after a year to something else....but why not get something that is of use to you now...
Okay. So tell me if I have this right. My most recent mailer was for double cash. Inside it shows the number for pre-selection and then 13.99%...variable thereafter.
Is that what you mean by listing a precentage?
